My current binder of choice.

I utterly adore this binder. I love the slide mechanism, if for no other reason than I'm tired of getting my fingers pinched in the metal rings of American binders. That gets old, really fast. American binders are also so cheaply made that even the expensive ones don't let you turn pages smoothly. They're always getting caught on the gaps of the rings. Not so this binder. Every page turns smoothly, every single time. Kokuyo also has some nice touches like bright, cheerful dividers, and a plastic pocket to hold lagniappe like post it pads, small handouts or, oh, a Midori A5 notebook. It also comes with 10 sheets of their lovely Sarasara paper. How many American companies give you any of those things with a binder purchase? Not very dang many, that's for sure.

The notebook holds more pages than one would think, and yet it's still super-light to carry. Anything that reduces the weight in my backpack is tops in my book. Oddly, this binder's cover is thinner and far lighter than than the American binder that I have to carry for my science class, yet it's sturdier by far. It holds up to all the abuse I can put it through, and then some. I had an American binder for my online science class that literally fell apart after only three days of light use, while this one has been coming out of my backpack for heavy use in my face-to-face classes, and has never even thought about giving me trouble.

My only complaint is that sometimes the mechanism doesn't close easily if I have too many sheets in the binder. But that's easily remedied.

If Kokuyo ever makes a thicker binder with this slide mechanism that can handle 200 pages, I will be all over it like stink on a skunk.

This binder stashes beautifully in my purse. This makes it very easy to carry my work with me. My only complaint is that it sometimes slides open if I am not careful when transporting it. I have had many of my students comment on how cool it looks, and how wonderful the paper is.

I -love- these binders. As the other reviewers have stated, the multiple holes help to prevent pages from ripping out. The transparent holder is extremely useful, as are the tabbed dividers. The only complaint I could even think to offer is that after many many semesters of use, the sliding mechanism for the holes becomes harder to close. However, this is after multiple semesters of heavy and extremely careless use.
Overall, I cannot recommend these binders enough. They are amazing!

Great format. Convenient size. Multiple holes reduce damage to paper.

I don't have to worry about the pages tearing. The ring system is brilliant, and the color is true to the picture. It's the perfect size to throw in a small backpack or purse.
