There is no doubt that huawei phones are better among smart phones economically. I have been using huawei brand smart phones for last 5 years. I don't go to other features and models but p20 models disappoint its user for non gorilla protecting glass. 😈😈😈

DXOmark gave the P20 a meaningless "109" rating (top Nikon & Sony DSLR's are 100 or lower)
I'm sure it's a fine phone with lovely camera, but phone images are ridiculously processed to 'look sharp' and 'have pop' and 'add bokeh' which takes them out of the realm of cameras and into the realm of point n shoot automatic photoshop devices.
How about a simple good BSI sensor with good glass and RAW output?
(and a replaceable battery!)

Upgraded to the P20 pro from the Mate 8. I'm not impressed with the camera and video performance. Should have taken the Mate 10 pro. It feels the Mate 8 did a better job photo and video wise. Better IQ!!!!

So 4k is 3840 x 2160.
And 8 MP camera is 3364 x 2448, that means not wide enough.
Another thing I would like to add is, the AI implementation in p20 pro has left a lot to be desired.
AI doesn't mean you Overblow the colours which look beautiful.
It should do meaningful tasks like deciding exposure (for example, if there's a face in pics, it should expose as per the face only and not the entire scene, and if you snap moon's pic it should underexpose so you may see the patterns on its surface), or decide white balance as per objects in the scene.
The AI should also learn from its owner's preferences and choice.
There's good potential, but its not realised yet, from what I understood from the review.

In Video mode you can actually make use of the 3x zoom if you choose to record in 1080p. There simply is the physical disadventage of the 8MP camera that is not enough to capture 4K content simply because of the sensor resolution.

Honestly, I was a bit surprised with the result.
Gsmarena keeps its diplomacy in language, but its clear that S9 has the upper edge...
I wouldn't blame Huawei though.
Samsung have become such perfectionists, they hardly leave a flaw in their flagship features.
Since the Galaxy S5, I've seen only good audio quality, good camera, useful modes, quality displays, etc...
Only their UI was a bit bloat heavy. It still is. But otherwise, they aim to be flawless.

You will be extremely disappointed by the facts, that S9+ crashes, smashes and completely destroys P20 Pro. Every professional will tell you that. Deal with it ;)
