Will Norris is leaving Premier League outfit Wolverhampton Wanderers for Ipswich Town and this has opened the door for Sondergaard.
Andreas Sondergaard could be catapulted into first-team contention at Wolverhampton Wanderers next season with Will Norris on the verge of a loan move to Ipswich Town, as reported by the Express and Star.
The 18-year-old Dane is yet to make his first-team bow for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side but there is no doubting his potential. There is a reason why Sondergaard, who joined from Odense last year, is really catching the eye behind the scenes at Molineux.
The teenager was rewarded with a brand new contract earlier this summer with Wolves’ head of academy player development, Scott Sellars, lauding the progress he has made during just 12 months in the Black Country (Express and Star).
With less than a fortnight to go until the new season kicks off, Norris is set to be reunited with former Wolves coach Paul Lambert at Ipswich Town and reports claim that this has opened the door for Sondergaard to be promoted into the senior set up.
The highly-rated Scandinavian is expected to be named Wolves’ new third choice goalkeeper.
And while he’s still behind Rui Patricio and John Ruddy in the pecking order, don’t be surprised if Sondergaard makes his first appearance in senior football during the Carabao Cup or a Europa League clash in the very near future.
