Greetings Guys and Gals,

A new addition to the collection is one that I honestly and originally keyed in on because of his last name but then I started researching and discovered so much more. I wont go into great details as I have found several references to the incident, two of which I have added a link here. This incident was a new one for me but may not for others. From my readings and one will see, this sailing was set for disaster from the onset and what a sad loss of life and of all times, Christmas. May they Rest in Peace.

From my research I know the owner of this dog tag was with the 66th Infantry Division. He went on to survive WW2 and Korea and lived a long life. May he RIP and thank you for your service.

I just found this while using my Ancestry account. Its a memorial, at Ft Benning, Ga, for those lost on the SS Leopoldville. Also a picture of SSGT Pickle's headstone.
