Biography: One of the iconic images of the swinging sixties, Twiggy became famous worldwide as a model for her slim waif-like appearance, following in the footsteps of fellow model Jean Shrimpton. She got her break after having her hair cropped by a famous hairdresser, and Twiggy went on to be named the face of 1966 in the UK.

Twiggy's modelling career took off and she even had her own line of dresses. She travelled to the US and became hugely successful stateside also. After just four years of modelling Twiggy retired, and began to focus on a singing and acting career instead.

In 1971 she landed the lead role in Ken Russell's adaption of "The Boyfriend", winning two Golden Globe awards for the role. She later made her West End stage debut in London and had her own TV show "Twiggs".
