Could it be any more exciting? Central Perk, the iconic coffeehouse from Friends, is finally making its mark in Boston, and it's bringing a Chandler Bing flair to the grand opening on November 14.

The 2,600-square-foot coffee shop and restaurant, located on the bustling Newbury Street, is designed to transport visitors into the cozy and familiar atmosphere of the hit sitcom.

Glen Coben, founder and principal designer of Glen & Co Architecture, assured to "People" magazine it's not just a replication of the original set but a modern interpretation of what Central Perk would look like in 2024.

Among the Friends-inspired décor is an oversized orange couch, black-and-white photos of the show's iconic fountain, and coffee cup sleeves featuring memorable quotes from each character.

A heartfelt tribute to Matthew Perry

In a heartwarming move, Central Perk Coffeehouse is dedicating its opening day to the late Matthew Perry, who portrayed the sarcastic Chandler Bing. Fans can enjoy exclusive "Can I Interest You in a Sarcastic Comment" cup sleeves all day in honor of the actor's enduring legacy.

The venue is more than just a trip down memory lane; it's a place for people to create their own stories. "The show is no longer in production, but you get to create your own stories here now," says Gurdock, one of the minds behind the concept.

While the space promises nods to Friends' trademark moments, it's not just a museum. Central Perk in Boston is a warm and inviting spot, designed for people to gather casually and celebrate life's small moments and big milestones.

What you will find in Central Perk

The food and drink menu features local beers, natural wines, and shared plates in the evenings. Fans can savor items like Rachel Green's Side Salad, Ross Geller's Moist Maker Sandwich, and Joey's Grandma's Chicken Salad.

Coffee enthusiasts can indulge in the humorously named blends, including "How You Doin'?" medium roast, "Pivot Blend" medium to dark roast, and the caffeine-free "Moo Point." Merchandise, from sweatshirts to drinkware, is also available, including Boston-specific items like "You're my Lobster" refrigerator magnets.

With Top Chef alum and renowned restaurateur Tom Colicchio as an investor and advisor, Central Perk aims to be more than just a novelty. As Colicchio puts it, "This is a real-life, real-world café that will have high attention to not only the quality of the coffee, and our pursuit of that, but also the food."
