The term, which is used to begin and close each Masonic ritual, finds its roots in the 14th century, first appearing in the Halliwell Manuscript, also known as the Regius Manuscript or Regius Poem. My new article, "The gothic oath in the early Byzantine sources", has been published in the 31st volume of Domus Byzantinus! This article aims to point out the role of the oath firstly inside the gothic society and secondly in the context of the gothic – Byzantine contacts, before and after the crossing of the river Danube (376). It also examines the complex way that historians and poets of the Byzantine Empire created a propagandistic tradition of gothic perjury. #ByzantineHistory It is now available at:

Very touching to read the review of my book 'Conservatism and Grace' (Routledge, 2023), by Daniel j. Mahoney, Professor Emeritus at Assumption University, Senior Fellow at the Real Clear Foundation, and Senior Writer at Law and Liberty. This excerpt is particularly humbling: "If Sebastian Morello’s book avoids the temptation to put forward a counter-ideology to combat the ideological subversion of reality, it remains unabashedly counter-revolutionary in a real and important way. It ably defends human nature and traditional patterns of settlement, loyalty, and humble reverence toward the Most High.
