Short and fun game to play, the world leaders in the game shows clearly the age of the game. WIth the right strategy you can win the game most of the times.. You can keep attacking the player who is less populair. The player that likes you the less compared to the other players will attack you. Each computer player has its own personality... I get the feeling that the game could fit on one disk if the programmer of the game had done a better job.

A fun, satirical little game that hides more depth than you might give it credit for on first glance.
Good for an occasional distraction, and the graphics are not bad and amusing.
At last I got my hands on the manual and can now grasp the subtleties of face diplomacy and handling the different personalities.

So many hours put into this little yet funny as hell masterpiece! I remember I once managed to win a game with ALL my cities intact, and not even lowly populated at that! (And that's even more memorable when you take in the amount of games ending with no surviving country and the whole world blowing up!)
Although simple and easy to learn, every action had unpredictable outcomes (rather like real life wars), and nothing could be taken for granted, ever. The atmosphere of a board game adds to it, and I second those who said a modern-day version would be a dream come true, with today's leaders like Kim, Putin, Trump and similar asshole-y nutheads!

Better still, one with Trump, Assad and Kim Jong-un too - yeah, and a multiplayer mode: that would be the real deal!

I wish they did a modern-day version, with Merkel, Obama, Putin and all the others

I won! I won! Great strategy game which is still fun to play.

Nuclear War lacks a multiplayer option, the diplomacy aspects of the game seem a bit random, and it's lacking in the sound department. Despite these flaws, it is still one of the best boardgame-like strategy games I have played. Dishing out megadeath, then using propaganda to get the citizens of your computer-controlled opponents to flee their country by the millions is immensely satisfying. I love the dark humor and the Dr. Strangelove reference in the intro.

Casual events and computer aim can make the game very hard and frustrating sometimes since the beginning, but it's a lot of fun anyway!

Heheheh that was real fun, like North and South but in single player. I HATED when Ghanji stroke "propaganada" against me, and then I used to discharge some 200 megaton payload on his country...

This was one of my favorites, I played this one for fun. I played it often, it is a good game to unwind on and get upset over! Basic stratedgy, my copy went bad so I can't play anymore... But maybe one day I will find it again!

Perhaps the most satiric strategy game in Amiga history, your goal is to wipe out all enemy nations in a nuclear holocaust then enjoy your victory over a radioactive wasteland. The strategic part is rather limited as you have very few options and the outcome of your actions are often utterly unpredictable. Still, this game is easy to get into, and the many enjoyable features - the hilarious intro, the funny names and reactions of your enemies, the memorable "victory end sequence" - make this a likable little game.

Very funny game for a while, but there's not really much depth at all.

Still don't get why people like this game so much. Only 2-3 different screens and the boring gameplay gets repetitive and dull very quickly. (37%)

Pretty decent game though it gets old quickly.
I just recently figured out the differences between the personalities of the opponents in this game - there are 5 different personalities, 2 characters for each. Warmonger and "normal" leaders are the easiest to predict and win over.
The game is too simple though, I wish they'd make a remake of this game with some more features... Not too much as part of the appeal is that it's simple but a few more options would be welcome.

I will never forget the names of the game characters! Ronnie Raygun and Gorbachef was my favorites!

I would think that Nuclear War game is a bit like North & South game, but this is where 4 players try to protect their people and trying to destroy each other. It's quite funny too.

Quite a simple strategy game that is livened-up and made more enjoyable by its' sense of humour. The caracatures of world leaders are quite good.

Every important statesman should play this game at least once in his/her lifetime... A hilarious armageddon-strategy spoof, especially if you like Monty Python / Dr. Strangelove / Spitting Image!

For the ones who didn't understand how to use a multiple attack, use the GR-2 bomber with a 2 x 50 or 5 x 20 warhead (if you got them), game was very addictive though

Well, this IS an original game! There's one goal here... DESTROY!!! The graphics are very funny, Spitting Image revisited and the sounds matches the game perfectly! Don't expect a very in depth game, because the options are rather limited. Great humour and although the gameplay is sometimes rather random (seeming almost unfair at times), this game is a lot of fun! Not very big lastability, but very nice to play once and a while! Try it!

Overall: 8/10

A fun game, but becomes monotonous after a few hours.
The irony is great, "only 3 million killed"

The almost random nature of the attack, and the lack of multiplayer should have doomed this game to mediocraty, but instead it was one of the must enjoyable experiences on the old Amiga. I still play it today when I need a quick pick me up at work (and don't tell me boss).
