Pantone named Peach Fuzz (Pantone 13-1023) as its Color of the Year for 2024. The soft, heartfelt hue expresses the desire to nurture kindness, compassion, and connection—all while fostering a deep coziness as we seek a peaceful future.

A light, delicate shade that sits between pink and orange, Peach Fuzz marks Pantone’s 25th anniversary of its Color of the Year program. The color showcases our "want to be close to those we love and the joy we get when allowing ourselves to tune into who we are and savor that moment of quiet time," Laurie Pressman, vice president of the Pantone Color Institute, tells House Beautiful.

Benjamin Moore Color of the Year: Blue Nova

Inspired by exploration, Benjamin Moore named Blue Nova (825) as its Color of the Year for 2024. The cosmic, blue-violet blend encourages adventure, beckoning everyone to indulge in new experiences. The paint brand teamed up with aerospace company Blue Origin to announce the color and work to inspire future generations to pursue STEM education and careers in the space industry.

When deciding how to use Blue Nova in your home, the options are endless. The paint brand recommends juxtaposing the grounding blue with dynamic, contrasting colors like orange to create an ethereal atmosphere. You can also use it to create a statement-making painted ceiling or cover every wall of a powder room.

Behr Color of the Year: Cracked Pepper

Behr's Color of the Year for 2024 is Cracked Pepper (PPU18-01), a soft black that can ground any space while remaining timeless. The color is an approachable segue into the paint dark side as it melds into practically any design style. "It's an anchor color that doesn't have to be reinvented," Sarah Fishburne, The Home Depot’s director of trend and design, tells House Beautiful.

Just like the seasoning it's named after, Cracked Pepper is a staple. Exclusively available at The Home Depot, Cracked Pepper makes an excellent paint choice for interiors and exteriors. Fishburne even has Cracked Pepper incorporated throughout her own brick home on the gutters and the interior doors.

Sherwin-Williams Color of the Year: Upward

Sherwin-Williams announced Upward (SW 6239) as its Color of the Year for 2024, and the relaxed blue practically embodies the sensation of taking a slow breath of crisp air. "It brings to life that carefree, sunny day energy that elicits a notion of contentment and peace," Sue Wadden, director of color marketing at Sherwin-Williams, said in a press release. "With this color, we invite our consumers to take a pause and infuse a new sense of ease and possibility into their spaces—one that doesn't overwhelm, but rather establishes meditation and tranquility."

The light blue with gray undertones is especially ideal for crafting a coastal chic design style. Consider using Upward as a standout color in a bathroom or kitchen. In a serene bedroom, it also makes a refreshing accent wall.

Glidden Color of the Year: Limitless

Glidden paint by PPG named Limitless (PPG1091-3) as its 2024 Color of the Year. The honey beige hue is "anything but yellow," according to the brand, because it has the stamina of a primary color but the versatility of a neutral. "We are entering a new era of explosive creativity and change," Ashley McCollum, PPG color expert for Glidden, said in a press release. "Consumers are using color in even more unconventional ways than ever before and they need a palette that offers versatility to work with both new and existing decor."

Glidden color experts recommend using Limitless "anywhere and everywhere." Whether you cover your kitchen cabinets or paint your ceiling with the warm neutral, you can't go wrong.

C2 Paint Color of the Year: Thermal

A refreshing blue called Thermal (#752) encourages an uplifting and energizing year ahead as C2 Paint's 2024 Color of the Year. Reminiscent of the sky on a clear day, the color can bring a calming feel to any space. "This bespoke pale yet punchy blue is poised for adventure and brimming with hope, evoking feelings of loyalty, trust, and confidence," Philippa Radon, interior designer and C2 Paint color specialist, said in a press release.

Radon added the color is a "call to action, energizing us to live boldly, to express our unique styles freely, and to acknowledge our responsibilities as stewards of our planet."

Valspar Color of the Year: Renew Blue

Valspar celebrated its 15th anniversary of its Color of the Year launch by naming Renew Blue (8003-37D) as its hue for 2024. "Inspired by fleeting elements like fog, mist, clouds, and glacier lakes, Renew Blue elevates the everyday mood, encourages self-expression, and evokes a feeling of balance and calm, with a twist of unique spontaneity," Sue Kim, Valspar director of color marketing, said in a press release.

The balanced blue has a touch of grayed sea green, making it an excellent choice for refreshing an entryway, dining area, or backyard. "Blue is a classic shade that has become the new neutral for today's home and can be mixed and matched to fit a variety of design styles and applications," Kim added.

HGTV Home by Sherwin-Williams Color of the Year: Persimmon

Anyone who gravitates toward warm, lively hues will adore HGTV Home by Sherwin-Williams's 2024 Color of the Year: Persimmon (HGSW6339). "Persimmon balances the energy of tangerine with grounded neutral undertones, making it perfect for spaces like living rooms and kitchens as it promotes positive relationships and conversation," Ashley Banbury, HGTV Home by Sherwin-Williams color marketing manager, said in a press release.

The earthy terracotta shade is grounding and comforting yet uplifting and refreshing. Exclusively available at Lowe's, the color is part of the brand's Collection of the Year called Renewed Comfort. Dutch Boy Paints Color of the Year: Ironside

To inspire consistent comfort in the home, Dutch Boy Paints unveiled Ironside as its 2024 One-Coat Color of the Year. Used all over a large room or in a small space, the deep olive shade offers an elegant touch while promoting wellness. "Creating a space for wellness should be a driving factor in everyday life," Ashley Banbury, NCIDQ and color marketing manager for Dutch Boy Paints, said in a press release. "That's why taking a natural approach to healthy living and safe spaces is a pivotal part of the current landscape."

Ironside is meant to promote that type of sanctuary, where people can feel secure and focus on their overall well-being. And if you're not looking to repaint an entire room, try the shade on trim or on furniture.

Minwax Color of the Year: Bay Blue

It's time to give your home's wood accents a cool-toned, nature-inspired refresh thanks to Minwax. Known for its interior wood stains and clears, the company announced Bay Blue (MW1049) as its 2024 Color of the Year. "This year's color is meant to ignite the creativity of DIYers to think of bold and rich color stain options when planning their next home project, helping to completely transform their living spaces," Sue Kim, director of color marketing for Minwax, said in a press release.

Consider using the blue-green stain to distinguish wood paneling and revive furniture. "With Bay Blue available in both solid and semi-transparent wood stain opacities, the possibility to create custom looks is easily within reach," Kim added.

Graham & Brown Color of the Year: Viridis

Connected to nature, Graham & Brown's 2024 Color of the Year, Viridis is a muted green. Perfect for entertaining spaces and entryways, the welcoming shade generates a warm, peaceful atmosphere. The color "creates such a calming effect with tones of new beginnings, perfect for entertaining," Maryanne Cartwright, Graham & Brown head of design, said in a press release.

Cartwright added that Viridis “reflects harmony and stability” as well as symbolizes growth and health. "It evokes a feeling of abundance and a plentiful environment whilst simultaneously providing a restful and secure feeling," Cartwright said. "We see our homes as a haven, a place to spend time with family and friends, and this is the perfect hue to create a welcoming color palette."

York Wallcoverings Color of the Year: Bay Brown

York Wallcoverings selected a warm, intimate, and effortlessly chic Color of the Year for 2024: Bay Brown. "In the design category, we continue to be drawn to the natural world: the forest, mushrooms, the equestrian lifestyle," said Carol Miller, color and trend expert for York Wallcoverings, in a press release. "Academia aesthetics are surging, and this color is front and center in dark leather upholstery, wood furniture, and the retro styles of the 60s and 70s."

Reminiscent of coffee and chocolate cake, Bay Brown is a cozy neutral that can be incorporated into a variety of interiors. Whether it's through textured wallpaper or fluted furniture, the color is highly versatile.

Krylon Color of the Year: Bluebird

If you're into pale blues that pack a punch, you'll adore Krylon's Bluebird. As the spray paint company's Color of the Year for 2024, Bluebird reimagines the cool, pastel shade in a brighter, punchier fashion. James Hardie Color of the Year: Mountain Sage

James Hardie, a global building materials company, announced its first-ever Color of the Year for housing exteriors: Mountain Sage. The green hue has a mood-boosting quality that promotes tranquility and harmony. Through a survey and consumer trend analysis, the company found that people are increasingly prioritizing their mental well-being. To do so, they're bringing plants into their homes and creating their own sanctuary.

When applied to a home's exterior siding, Mountain Sage can instantly bridge the gap between the indoors and outdoors, bringing homeowners closer to nature.
