card
Trading/sports card signed: "Mike Epstein", in blue ink,
color. 2½x3½ Topps trading card #38. Career stats and bio on verso. Nicknamed
the Super Jew due to his ethnicity and religious involvement, Mike
Epstein (b. 1943) is a former Major League First Basemen for the
Baltimore Orioles, Washington Senators, Oakland Athletics, Texas Rangers and
CA Angels from 1966 to 1974. With a respectable .359 on-base
percentage, Epstein was noted as a strong power hitter, but who
wasn't interested in hitting for a high batting average (which was .244 for
his career). The First Baseman had 130 home runs and 380 runs batted
in by the end of his professional career. In 1972 he became a World
Series Champion. He wore a black armband in the 1972 playoffs in memory
of the 11 Israeli athletes who were murdered by Terrorists at the Munich
Olympics. Lightly toned. Fine condition.
