Down-to-earth, a total bombshell and still rocking bodycon at five months pregnant. Here, Abbey Clancy opens up about exercise (or lack of,) launching a fragrance and her desert island beauty musts.

Abbey, you look great - how are you feeling and where is your amazing outfit from?

Aaah thank you! My heels are from River Island and I'm wearing a thin Wolford bodysuit. I feel like I have a permanent central heating system on me so I have to keep my clothes light. Even if it's freezing, I'm boiling! But besides that, everything is brilliant. I'm really excited to be here today with my mum for the launch.

Tell us about the fragrance launch?

When Avon approached me, my first thought was how much I love the scent. I'm into musty scents like Tom Ford Black Orchid Eau de Parfum £52 for 30ml - so this was right up my street. I would never be the face of something unless I really believed in it. Plus, getting to work with my mum has been so fun.

Your mum is stunning! Have you learnt any brilliant beauty tips from her?

(Abbey pauses and looks at her mum…) No I give her all the tips! I'm lucky enough to work with amazing make-up artists and hair stylists so I tell her the tricks and what products to buy.

Your make-up is always gorgeous. What are your essentials?

For starters everything goes in my Charlotte Tilbury Signature Rose Gold & Night Crimson Make-up Bag £25 - I love it! As for products, I love the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Topaz £33, Avon Supershock Gel Eyeliner Pencil £6, Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder Youth-Boosting Perfect Skin Foundation SPF 15 in 6 Medium £32 and the Tom Ford Bronzing Powder £68.

Now let's talk about your incredible body. What's the secret?

(Abbeys mum calls out that it's down to good genes.) I honestly don't diet or work out regularly. I'm just always running around - you'll never catch me having a day on the sofa. The only exercise I do is Bootcamp Pilates at belsizestudio.com. The teacher Avigail is really strict and she understands me, which is what I need to keep it up.

You have such a busy schedule. What are your 3 most important beauty rituals?

  1. I drink a lot of water.

  2. Sleep - I really see the difference in my skin and overall appearance when I have had a good night sleep.

  3. I always take my make-up off before bed.

What's the first product you put on in the morning and the last one before bed?

Body moisturiser for both. I'm currently using E45 Dermatological Moisturising Lotion £5.50 for 500ml. Is that a boring answer? Sorry! It is the truth though…

Is there a beauty look that frightens you?

Pink lipstick. I love it on others and hate it on myself. HATE!

Would you ever change from blonde?

Yes I would love to go back to my natural dark hair but I'm too scared. My hairdresser said I'll never get the same blonde once I make the change. Plus, I'm petrified of my hair falling out.

What's a classic Abbey nail shape and colour?

A stiletto shape in red or nude. I never go wild with nails.

What about fake tan? Do you ever use it?

I don't go near it myself because I'm rubbish at applying it. But I love beauty expert Nichola Joss - she is my go-to tanner. The one thing I do use daily is Dove Summer Glow Nourishing Lotion in Medium to Dark Skin £5.25.

And finally, what are the beauty must-haves that you can't live without?

Oh that desert island question. Definitely Batiste Dry Shampoo Original £2.99 for 200ml and Pureology Pure Hydrate Shampoo £14.95 - I love that stuff. Oh. And Leonardo Dicaprio. (Pete will kill me for saying that!)

Avon Cherish Eau de Parfum £14 for 50ml is available to buy today.
