Get into vinyl with this elegant, high-value turntable
This nice-looking turntable provides an easy and affordable intro into the great-sounding world of vinyl. It features a solid, handsomely finished MDF plinth, vibration-dampening motor suspension, and a high-mass steel platter over an anti-resonant sub-platter. It's also got a one-piece aluminum tonearm fitted with a factory-installed Ortofon OM 5E moving magnet cartridge. It will sound great once you set it up out of the box. And you can upgrade the cartridge and/or platter down the line if you want to get even better sound.
Flexible operation
The Debut III SB's switchable built-in phono preamp lets you connect to pretty much any sound system setup. You can use the built-in phono preamp and plug directly in to a pair of powered stereo speakers or a line-level input on your amp. Or, switch it off and connect to your own separate phono stage or the phono input on a stereo receiver or integrated amp.
The bottom-mounted speed switch lets spin records at 33-1/3 or 45 rpm. If you want to listen to some cool old 78s records, you'll need to swap to the included 78 rpm belt and pick up a compatible stylus (sold separately).

Features
Manual Belt-Drive with Electronic Speed Control: The Pro-Ject Debut III Phono SB is a manual belt-drive turntable. The rocker switch on the bottom of the turntable allows you to change speeds with the push of only a single button. Besides being able to effortlessly change replay speeds with the push of a button, the playback speed is electronically controlled with the utmost precision, which results in the most accurate and stable speed. The Debut III Phono SB supports 33-1/3, 45, and 78 rpm speeds.
- The Debut III Phono SB ships with two different belts. The flat belt is for 33 & 45rpm records and is installed on the top/smaller diameter of the motor pulley. The round belt is for 78rpm records only and is designed for use with the larger/bottom pulley diameter with the differently shaped slot. Installing the 78rpm belt incorrectly compromises its integrity and may lead to breakage.
- To playback 78 rpm records, you'll need to use the included round belt (instead of the flat belt). You'll also need to change out the pre-installed cartridge for a 78 rpm compatible cartridge.
Solid MDF Plinth: The turntable features a solid MDF (medium density fiberboard) that is available in a gloss black or real-wood walnut veneer. The plinth rests on flexible-cushioned feet to isolate the turntable from your mounting surface.
High-Pass Steel Platter: The Debut III Phono SB uses a 1.7kg high-mass 300mm steel platter that rotates on a high precision stainless steel axle with bronze bushing, plus comes with a felt mat to protect against unwanted vibration during record playback.
Ortofon OM5e MM Cartridge: The Pro-Ject Debut III Phono SB comes supplied with a high quality Ortofon OM5e Moving Magnet cartridge, featuring an elliptical diamond stylus tip for true high-fidelity playback from your vinyl record collection. With its tracking force and anti-skating weight pre-adjusted by Pro-Ject's experienced technicians in the factory, you know the turntable will sound its best.
One-Piece Aluminum Tonearm: The lightweight and low friction 8.6" aluminum tonearm is optimized for the included Ortofon OM5e cartridge and will bring out its maximum potential. With its straight, 8.6" effective length and stiff aluminum construction, this one-piece tonearm also features low-friction bearings for absolute accuracy in use. Besides the clean and stylish looks, the integrated headshell won't cause any additional vibrations either, and is a big improvement over many other detachable, screwed-on or glued-on headshells.
Built-In Phono Preamp: The Debut III Phono SB implements a built-in phono preamp that is defeatable, meaning you can choose when to engage it based on your application. The most common application for the built-in phono preamp is for use with systems that lack a phono preamp, allowing you to connect your turntable directly to a line-level input of your integrated amplifier or AV receiver. If you already use an external phono preamp or your amplifier/receiver has a dedicated phono input, you can switch off the built-in phono preamp.
Note: The phono switch is located next to the stereo RCA jacks on the back of the turntable.
Gold-Plated RCA Outputs: The Pro-Ject Debut Phono SB is outfitted with a set of gold-plated stereo RCA outputs that provide excellent audio signal transfer and resistance against corrosion. A 4' stereo RCA cable is included with an attached ground wire.
Dust Cover: The Pro-Ject Debut III Phono SB comes with a hinged, clear acrylic dust cover to protect the turntable and your vinyl records from dust build-up. The dust cover can be totaly removed.
- Dimensions with Dust Cover Closed: 16.375" (w) x 4.75" (h) x 13.4375" (d)
- Dimensions with Dust Cover Open: 16.375" (w) x 14.625" (h) x 15.8125" (d)
AC Power Adapter: The turntable operates off of standard household current using the supplied external AC power adapter. The AC power adapter will plug into the back of The Debut III Phono SB turntable and into and AC power outlet or surge protector/line-conditioner (sold separately).

I wanted a turntable for the bedroom system easy to setup and sounds great. This would be perfect for a beginner turntable.
