Sammamish Port Club - Holiday Tasting (Sammamish, Washington): Bottled in 2013. Very dark amber-brown in color with yellow on the edges. Noticeable VA on the initial nose, with celery, vegetative notes, and some caramel underneath. As the wine got more air, the celery notes blew off a little bit but still seemed slightly off. On the palate, there is burnt sugar, caramel, dried pineapple, and a sweet flavor profile. On the finish, there is still a touch of celery but this is an interesting, funky port.

Sammamish Tasting - Novermber 2022 (Sammamish, Washington): Bottled in 2013. Dark brown amber in color. Chocolate, dates, dried fruit, mahogany, esteva, and molasses on the very rich, complex nose. This has the richness and texture of a much older Tawny Port. The palate has notes of molasses, chocolate, and some dried fig. Nice long finish.

2022 Port Harvest Tour; 9/22/2022-10/2/2022 (Porto, Portugal): Bottled in 2020, this wine is dark brown-amber in color. The deep, rich nose unfolds layers of espresso, graham crackers, and milk chocolate. On the palate, lively acidity takes center stage, accompanied by rich notes of orange peel, spices, and chocolate. The wine has an extremely long, lively finish.

Shown during Caviste UK's Zoom tasting of "Old, Interesting and Fantastic" wines. This was a brilliant finish to our tasting, these old Krohn vintages are drinking so well and certainly not fading through age. Rusty orange colour. Spicy, rich, luscious, hazelnuts. Absolutely delicious. Great now!

Two years on from my last bottle and tasting note. Still drinking superbly. Enjoyed by all at the table.
