Abbey Clancy

Best known for strutting her stuff on the catwalk, Liverpudlian model Abbey Clancy is now ready to strike a pose on the dance floor on this year’s Strictly Come Dancing.

Abbey came to prominence when she reached the final of the second series of Britain’s Next Top Model in 2006 and although she didn’t win the competition, her runway career took off, and she hasn’t looked back.

Since then a career in television has beckoned; Abbey has appeared in the third series of Hell’s Kitchen as well as starring in her own reality show alongside US veteran model Janice Dickinson in 2007’s Abbey and Janice: Beauty & the Best. Branching out into TV presenting Abbey appears regularly on ITV’s This Morning, as their fashion expert.

Abbey met England striker Peter Crouch in 2005, but it wasn’t until the following year’s World Cup that she became a tabloid fixture as one of the Wags (wives and girlfriends) rubbing shoulders with Cheryl Cole and Victoria Beckham in Germany. Abbey and Peter married in 2011 and they have a two year-old daughter Sophia Ruby.
