On May 4, Yamaha introduced the BOOSTER electric moped in Europe. The Booster is a scooter that was sold in Europe until 2016 and was popularly known as BW'S in Japan. It has been reborn with a completely new concept.
Compatible with AM license equivalent to a moped capable of up to 45 km/h
Yamaha, which pioneered the world launch of the PAS electrically power-assisted bicycle in 1993, has unveiled a booster in Europe that is a development of that model. The eccentrically designed bicycle is available in two types: Pedelec (electrically power-assisted bicycle) and S-Pedelec (electrically power-assisted bicycle capable of up to 45 km/h).
The electrically assisted bicycle version is named Booster Easy and has an assist speed of up to 25 km/h. Boosters are classified as S-Pedelec, a genre that is attracting attention in Europe as a new means of transportation. These bicycles require a European AM license equivalent to a Japanese moped license for ages 14-16 or older.
The booster is ridden by a PW-S2 drive unit that delivers 7.65 kg-m and assists up to 45 km/h.
The frame is made of die-cast aluminum in a U-shape for easy entry and exit and features a honeycomb shape on the front side. It is equipped with an 80 mm stroke suspension on the front only.
It is equipped with fat tires on 20-inch wheels front and rear, a point in common with the engine version of the booster. The new Booster has its roots in the model released in Japan in 1988 as BW'S (Bewith), and the new Booster also has a playful style that is attractive.
