David Koepp will return to script the seventh film in the dino franchise.

Life finds a way — and so does the Jurassic Park franchise.

Universal Pictures is developing a new Jurassic World movie written by David Koepp, who penned the original Jurassic Park and its sequel The Lost World, EW has confirmed. Steven Spielberg will serve as executive producer on the film, which will feature an all-new storyline separate from that of the sequel trilogy starring Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard.

The movie would mark the seventh overall in the Jurassic series. The Hollywood Reporter broke the news.

The most recent entry in the dino franchise was 2022's Jurassic World Dominion, for which Pratt and Howard were joined by Jurassic Park veterans Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, and Sam Neill. The film was directed by Colin Trevorrow, from a script by he wrote with Emily Carmichael. Dominion grossed $376 million in the U.S. and just over $1 billion worldwide.

In addition to 1993's Jurassic Park and 1997's The Lost World: Jurassic Park, Koepp's extensive screenwriting credits include Death Becomes Her, Spider-Man, War of the Worlds, Angels & Demons, and the last two Indiana Jones movies.
